This metric is not re-read cell by cell by the validation harness yet. It is written by the same loader as a checked metric from the same file family (see below), and its coverage is listed here; a component for it can be added in components.yaml.

Definition

Share of grade-7 test takers scoring level 3 or above on the spring FAST Math (PM3); FSA before 2022-23.

  • 'Percentage in Level 3 or Above' from the spring State Report of Schools for one subject and grade, all students. The denominator stored with the value is the file's 'Number of Students' (students tested).

What is served

  • Years: 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25
  • 563 school-year cells across 197 schools; 42 stored as suppressed (publisher withheld)
  • 437 cells carry a peer-group percentile (all-students rows of schools with a peer group)

What it cannot show

  • The state withholds a cell when fewer than 10 students tested or when all tested students scored in one level; those cells are stored as suppressed, not zero.
  • This is a grade-level rate from the spring administration; the School Grades achievement component for the same subject pools grades and applies the full-year-enrolled rule, so the two do not have to agree.
  • No subgroup breakdowns exist in these files (the state publishes subgroup results only in its Know Your Data reports).

Comparability across years

  • Florida replaced the FSA with the FAST progress-monitoring assessments in 2022-23 and reset the achievement scales; 2022-23 is a new baseline and results before it are not on the same scale. No grades were issued for 2019-20. In 2020-21 districts could opt in to grades under Emergency Order 2021-EO-02; that exceptional year is excluded here.

How it was checked

Every served number runs through the four-check taxonomy described on the methodology page: (i) completeness, (ii) an exact re-read of the file by independent Python, (iii-b) a second publisher where one exists, (iv) recomputation of derived values.

In the ratings

Schools are ranked on this metric within their peer group (40 nearest schools on demographics and size, same level, sector and magnet status) and district-wide, with the rank inverted where lower is better so a high percentile always means a better outcome. See outliers and movers for this metric, and the ratings overview for how peer groups are built.
