What it cannot show
- The state withholds a cell when fewer than 10 students tested or when all tested students scored in one level; those cells are stored as suppressed, not zero.
- Who sits an EOC depends on course placement, so a middle school with an accelerated Algebra 1 cohort and a high school with the general cohort are not comparable on this rate.
- Spring-only loading excludes retakers who pass in later administrations.
Comparability across years
- Algebra 1 and Geometry moved to the B.E.S.T. standards and a new scale in 2022-23.
