Geometry EOC: percent level 3+

Share of spring Geometry end-of-course test takers scoring level 3 or above.

key eoc_geometry_proficiency · unit percent · higher is better · rated (peer and district percentiles)

This metric is not re-read cell by cell by the validation harness yet. It is written by the same loader as a checked metric from the same file family (see below), and its coverage is listed here; a component for it can be added in components.yaml.

Definition

Share of spring Geometry end-of-course test takers scoring level 3 or above.

  • 'Percentage in Level 3 or Above' from the spring State Report of Schools for one end-of-course exam (Algebra 1 and Geometry under the B.E.S.T. standards; Biology 1, Civics and U.S. History under NGSSS), all students. Spring is the canonical administration; fall, winter and summer results are not loaded.

What is served

  • Years: 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25
  • 700 school-year cells across 259 schools; 117 stored as suppressed (publisher withheld)
  • 478 cells carry a peer-group percentile (all-students rows of schools with a peer group)

What it cannot show

  • The state withholds a cell when fewer than 10 students tested or when all tested students scored in one level; those cells are stored as suppressed, not zero.
  • Who sits an EOC depends on course placement, so a middle school with an accelerated Algebra 1 cohort and a high school with the general cohort are not comparable on this rate.
  • Spring-only loading excludes retakers who pass in later administrations.

Comparability across years

  • Algebra 1 and Geometry moved to the B.E.S.T. standards and a new scale in 2022-23.

How it was checked

Every served number runs through the four-check taxonomy described on the methodology page: (i) completeness, (ii) an exact re-read of the file by independent Python, (iii-b) a second publisher where one exists, (iv) recomputation of derived values.

In the ratings

Schools are ranked on this metric within their peer group (40 nearest schools on demographics and size, same level, sector and magnet status) and district-wide, with the rank inverted where lower is better so a high percentile always means a better outcome. See outliers and movers for this metric, and the ratings overview for how peer groups are built.
