This metric is not re-read cell by cell by the validation harness yet. It is written by the same loader as a checked metric from the same file family (see below), and its coverage is listed here; a component for it can be added in components.yaml.

Definition

Asian students as a share of enrollment.

  • The race or ethnicity count from FLDOE's Membership by School by Grade by Race file (Survey 2, October) divided by the same year's October membership, as a percentage, for 2018-19 and 2021-22 onward. The file hides cells under 10 students; the school's unallocated count (October total minus the visible cells) is known exactly and is spread over the hidden cells — equally in most years, and in proportion to the school's adjacent-year mix in 2022-23, where the file marks zeros with the same token (scripts/loaders/miami/race_membership.ts documents the rule and its measured error).

What is served

  • Years: 2018-19, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26
  • 3,098 school-year cells across 561 schools; 23 stored as suppressed (publisher withheld)

What it cannot show

  • Hispanic is an ethnicity in federal reporting and takes precedence over race, so the categories sum to 100 without overlap; 'two or more races' is non-Hispanic only.
  • Used as a peer-group feature and a residual-z covariate. The federal CCD copy of the same count (unsuppressed, 2018-19, 2022-23 and 2023-24) is the cross-publisher check on the allocation: mean error on the Black, Hispanic and White shares 0.8–1.0 pp in the equal-split years and 0.7–0.9 pp in 2022-23 with the capped adjacent-year prior (docs/qa_reports/miami/__cross_publisher_race.md; the process-bound row there is a consistency check that any capped allocation passes, the equal-split comparison is the accuracy statement).

How it was checked

Every served number runs through the four-check taxonomy described on the methodology page: (i) completeness, (ii) an exact re-read of the file by independent Python, (iii-b) a second publisher where one exists, (iv) recomputation of derived values.
