Definition
The 'Mathematics Achievement' component of the school grade, as published (percent).
- The School Grades component as published: the percent of tested students scoring level 3 or above on the state assessment for that subject, aggregated across the grades the school serves and including the end-of-course exams the state assigns to that subject.
- Blank component cells in the state file (fewer than 10 tested, or the component does not apply to the school type) are not stored: the school simply has no value for that component and year.

What is served
- Years: 2018-19, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25
- 2,272 school-year cells across 482 schools; 0 stored as suppressed (publisher withheld)
- 2,094 cells carry a peer-group percentile (all-students rows of schools with a peer group)
What it cannot show
- A school-level component pools grades with different pass rates, so two schools with the same component can have different grade mixes.
- The state's component excludes students who were not enrolled for the full year at the school (the accountability 'full-year enrolled' rule); the per-grade State Report of Schools counts every tested student.
Comparability across years
- Florida replaced the FSA with the FAST progress-monitoring assessments in 2022-23 and reset the achievement scales; 2022-23 is a new baseline and results before it are not on the same scale. No grades were issued for 2019-20. In 2020-21 districts could opt in to grades under Emergency Order 2021-EO-02; that exceptional year is excluded here.
How it was checked
Every served number runs through the four-check taxonomy described on the methodology page: (i) completeness, (ii) an exact re-read of the file by independent Python, (iii-b) a second publisher where one exists, (iv) recomputation of derived values.
| Years | Common cells | Matches | Mismatches | Suppressed | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024-25 | 462 | 462 | 0 | 0 | PASS |

In the ratings
Schools are ranked on this metric within their peer group (40 nearest schools on demographics and size, same level, sector and magnet status) and district-wide, with the rank inverted where lower is better so a high percentile always means a better outcome. See outliers and movers for this metric, and the ratings overview for how peer groups are built.
