School-Lunch Status Methodology
Sample first row:
{
"School-Lunch Status Methodology": "
# of CEP Direct Certification with USDA Multiplier
- This value is the total from the school-level report where the CEP Direct Certification USDA multiplier was applied. This count represents the sum of the numbers in the Column “# of CEP Direct Certification with USDA Multiplier” found on the Lunch Status School-Level report.
- When all students in a school are reported under Direct Certification (Codes C & R), the USDA multiplier of 1.6 is applied to the total number of Direct Certification students (C & R).
- If the calculated number exceeds the total school enrollment (membership), it is capped at the membership value.
- Important note: If the school also reports students under the free/reduced-price lunch categories or Provision 2 category, and Direct Certification students are included, the multiplier will not be applied to those students.

# of Free or Reduced-Price Lunch with USDA Multiplier if Applicable (Numerator)
- This number reflects the total count of students reported with specific lunch status codes (D, F, 3, E, 4, R, or C). If the USDA multiplier is applicable to the school, this count will include the Direct Certification students multiplied by 1.6. This count represents the sum of the numbers in the Column “# of Free or Reduced-Price Lunch with USDA Multiplier if Applicable (numerator)” found on the Lunch Status School-Level report.
- If the USDA multiplier is not applied to a school, this number will simply reflect the raw count of students reported under the lunch status codes (without the multiplier).
- If the USDA multiplier is applied, it reflects the adjusted count, which includes the Direct Certification students and their 1.6 multiplier.

Demo Methodology:
-These counts represent the number of students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL). This includes students reported with any of the following Lunch Status codes: 'C', 'R', '3', 'D', 'E', 'F', and '4'. "
