Weighting the state's attendance measure by enrollment

The state publishes no student counts for its attendance measure, and enrollment is loaded for every sector only for 2024-25. Sector averages therefore weight each school by its 2024-25 enrollment in every year, with the unweighted school mean and median shown alongside.

  1. 1
    How it was computedSteps
    1. weighted = Σ(value × enrollment₂₀₂₄₋₂₅) / Σ enrollment₂₀₂₄₋₂₅ over schools with both.

    Inputs: attendance_persistence_rate; enrollment (2024-25)

  2. 2
    Assumptions & caveatsAssumptions
    • Relative school sizes in earlier years are approximated by 2024-25 enrollment.

Recomputed independently in Python for every sector, year, and school type (full QA §D). Note the limitation: fixed weights make this an average of school rates, not the share of the sector's students.
